What is an OID?
An OID is a persistent public identifier for a vehicle record. It links sourced history, verification states and permissioned services without making every underlying document public.
Does an OID prove legal ownership?
No. OID control records who can manage the network identity; it does not replace registration, title, PPSR checks or government ownership records.
How does control transfer?
The current controller starts a transfer to the recipient's verified OID account. Acceptance is recorded, control changes, and the vehicle history remains intact.
Who can add history?
Owners and authorised contributors can submit events. Each event identifies its source and verification level, and supporting evidence remains private unless explicitly published.
Can an agent see my personal information?
Only after a clear consent step, and only within the scopes connected to that vehicle. Contact or financial details are not silently shared between agents.
Are agent offers or specialist answers binding?
Sales offers are non-binding until accepted through the seller's process. Finance, insurance and warranty outcomes must come from an appropriately authorised provider.
